SHOULD I SEE A DIETITIAN?

Generally, everyone could benefit from seeing a dietitian; however, not everyone will reap the benefits. Setting up an appointment is a great first step but recognizing that nutrition counselling requires outside commitment is an important factor to consider. You need to be ready to take control of your health because the reigns are in your hands. WHAT IS A DIETITIAN ?

Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs), also known as Registered Dietitians (RDs), are certified by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in order to practice. They are authorized to treat specific health conditions, such as diabetes and eating disorders, by recommending foods to clients and counselling for lifestyle behavior changes.

IS A NUTRITIONIST THE SAME THING AS A DIETITIAN?

NO! Dietitians require a bachelors degree in nutrition, a 1000 hour supervises practice internship, a board exam, licensure, continuing education hours, and a masters degree beginning in 2024. While, anyone can claim to be a nutritionist. According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the credentialing agency for dietitians, under the new optional RDN (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) credential, every registered dietitian is also considered to be a nutritionist. However, every nutritionist is not considered to be a registered dietitian.

WILL MY HEALTH INSURANCE COVER DIETITIAN SERVICES?

At this time, Nutrition Now, LLC does not take insurance. In the future, Nutrition Now LLC hopes to take insurance for chronic kidney disease and diabetes management and education. Unfortunately, insurance companies do not love to partner with dietitians because my companies consider nutrition counselling to be elective.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DOES NUTRITION NOW, LLC TAKE?

Nutrition Now, LLC takes all major credit cards through our site. Nutrition Now, LLC will also take checks and cash; however, the choice is up to you.
